KK Diocese Gears Up For Jubilee
PENAMPANG(CS).- The Kota Kinabalu Diocese had made several efforts in the preparation for the celebration of the Great Jubilee Year 2000.
These efforts included the production of a full-colour poster based on this year's theme: God made Man-Jesus Christ by the Diocesan Organisational Pastoral Plan (DOPP) Core Group which is coordinating activities for the jubilee.
Using the widely known but yet to be officially accepted picture of Jesus from the Shroud of Turin, the poster which is in Bahasa Malaysia and English, has been distributed to all the parishes in the diocese while the Chinese version is still in the press.
The poster also revealed the diocesan theme: A community walking with Jesus which is supported by a quotation "Who do you say I am?" from Mk 8:29.
The Core Group is also producing a pocket-size version of St Mark's Gospel with a simple introduction and a bible sharing guide.
The Youth Commission plans to organize a youth festival, choir competition and some seminars.
Bishop John Lee officially launched the preparation on the First Sunday of Advent last year and said the diocesan preparation for the celebration would take the form of the DPPW. A special prayer card was introduced then.
