Formed in 1980, the DST is responsible for training of leaders to lead in local prayer groups, provide guidelines for development of new groups and to give members the right teaching. Catholic Nurses Guild of Malaysia (1947)
Mooted by then Fr Dominic Vendargon, the guild was formed in 1947 in Alor Star Kedah to help Catholic nurses strengthen their faith in God and in their nursing vocation. It was officially affiliated to the world body of Catholic Nurses in Brussels (CICIAMS) in February 1971. It spread its wings to Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei in 1972. The headquarters rotates among the states. On 7 Aug 2006 the headquarters transferred to Sabah.

Catholic Women's League (CWL)
Proposed by Fr J Vivian De Souza in 1967 it was formed first at Stella Maris Parish Tanjung Aru on 26 June 1968 for interested ladies to assist the rector in looking after the welfare of the parish and carrying out fund raising activities. Today there are more than 100 groups throughout the Ecclesiastical Province of Kota Kinabalu. In KK Archdiocese membership is divided into four zones: West Coast 1 (Dontozidon, ,Kota Kinabalu, Kepayan, Labuan, Limbahau, Papar, Penampang, Tanjung Aru); West Coast 2 (Bundu Tuhan, Ranau, Telupid); West Coast 3 (Inanam, Menggatal, Telipok, Tuaran); and Kudat Zone (Kota Belud, Kota Marudu and Kudat).
1. To assist the Parish Pastoral Council in the work of the Church

Founded in Ireland by Frank Duff on 7 Sept 1921, it spread to North Borneo on 8 Sept 1950 by Fr Desmond McLindon mhm in Penampang. Its aim is to glorify God through the sanctification of the members by prayer and active cooperation, under ecclesiastical guidance, in advancing the reign of God. The KK Comitium (7 Nov 1998) has six curiae (75 senior presidia, 11 junior praesidia) in KK Archdiocese, five curiae (64 senior praesidia, 21 junior praesidia) in Keningau Diocese, two curiae (9 praesidia) in Sandakan Diocese.

Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships (aka Catholic Fraternity)
Established in 1990, the Catholic Fraternity was created at the initiative of a number of Catholic Charismatic Communities belonging to the International Brotherhood of Communities - an ecumenical association of largely Catholic communities - that felt the need to affirm their identity with Charismatic Renewal, strengthen their links with the Church and deepen their communion with the Successor of Peter. In Sabah there are four such communities.

Neo-Catechumenal Community
Founded in Spain by KIko Arguello for gypsies in the 1960s, people rejected from normal parish communities to give them an experience of the wealth of the Church's liturgical life, which explored in an eight-year cycle the meaning and implications of Baptism. It spread its wings to Sabah in 1980 when a team of three itinerant catechists from Spain and Italy gave a series of talks at the Sacred Heart Parish at the invitation of Fr Tobias Chi with the consent of Bishop Simon Fung. The first Neo-Catechumenal Community was formed on 7 Sept 1980 and today there are 20 such communities in the archdiocese: Kota Kinabalu (5), Dontozidon (2), Kepayan (6), Papar (1), Ranau (1)) and Tuaran (5).

Secular Franciscan Order (SFO)
Founded in 1221 by St Francis of Assisi in Italy for people living in the world. First known SFO in Sabah was the late Thomas Lee (Archbishop Lee's father) who was given the habit in Hong Kong on 4 Oct 1937. Friar Rupert Dawson held the first informal session on 11 Nov 1983. The first members made their profession on 3 October 1986 after 2.5 years of formation. It has three fraternities.
